Honoring All Life: Exploring The First Precept Of Non-Harming

“A huge event will happen on Saturday, December 7, 2019, which will bring attention to the heartbreaking suffering of animals on their way to the plates of Buddhists. Spirit Rock teachers, Bob Stahl and Richard Shankman, long time DVA members, will host a day-long retreat called “Honoring All Life” at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, California. Our deepest gratitude to Bob and Richard for doing this for the second time! calendar.spiritrock.org/events/honoring-all-life/

Meditation and discussion of the First Precept of non-harming (ahimsa) will highlight the morning session. During the afternoon Bob and Richard will screen Dharma Voices for Animals’ (DVA’s) widely-acclaimed film, Animals and the Buddha, by award winning filmmaker Keegan Kuhn, who has teamed with Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio to produce two other widely popular films, Cowspiracy and What the Health which make the compelling case for a plant-based diet to protect our fragile environment and the health of our children and ourselves.

DVA co-founder and President, Bob Isaacson will join a blue ribbon panel to discuss the film after the screening.

If you are within driving distance of Woodacre, California, please don’t miss this opportunity to join us so we can meet each other and show Spirit Rock and the larger Buddhist community how much what we choose to eat matters! Hope to see you on December 7!!!
