A collection of essays exploring the relationship between Buddhism and veganism is now out. Edited by Will Tuttle, of DVA’s Advisory Council, Buddhism & Veganism: Essays Connecting Spiritual Awakening & Animal Liberation includes essays by several DVA members, including President Bob Isaacson, former board members David Blatte and Sherry Morgado, chapter leaders Vicki Seglin, Andrew Bear, and the late John Bussineau.
This important and timely collection asks whether we can awaken spiritually and morally while at the same time participating in our culture’s continuing and unnecessary abuse of sentient animals for food and other purposes. In teachings and stories by those committed to both Buddhism and veganism, the collection presents insightful perspectives on spiritual awakening, animal liberation, and a path to a better world for us all.
