DVA Mindfulness & Meditation Sangha for Animal Activists

Join DVA President and Co-Founder Bob Isaacson and or DVA Board member Bhante Sathi on Sunday, November 26th, from 9:00 to 10:00 am Pacific, for a 1-hour virtual mindfulness and meditation Retreat for animal activists. You do not need to be an activist to attend. Anyone who cares about animals is welcome to join us.

Bob Isaacson is the President and Co-Founder of Dharma Voices for Animals. He teaches the Dharma (the Buddha’s teachings), leads two Sanghas (ongoing groups of practitioners), and leads day-long and weekend retreats in the San Diego area, having been trained in Spirit Rock Meditation Center’s Community Dharma Leader Program.

Bhante Sathi is a DVA Board member, Co-Coordinator of DVA’s Sri Lanka Project, and a Sri Lankan-American monk who teaches Buddhist monastics around the world.

Together we will practice

  • Mindfulness: knowing what our experience is in the present moment.

  • Metta (Lovingkindness) and compassion meditation for ourselves and the animals who suffer terribly on the way to the plates of those who eat them.

  • Vipassana Meditation is the primary meditation technique taught by the Buddha that involves paying attention to present-moment experiences that lead to clarity, relaxation, and coming into harmony with our experiences.
